Start with Lake Manyara’s tree-climbing lions and millions of flamingos, ascend through the Ngorongoro Highlands, then spend three full days in the Serengeti — enough time to genuinely follow the wildlife rather than rush between sightings. Finish with two nights on the Ngorongoro crater rim and a full descent into the caldera for the iconic Big Five experience.
Day 1: Arusha → Lake Manyara
Drive west from Arusha to the Great Rift Valley. Afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara NP: tree-climbing lions, elephant herds, hippos and vast flocks of flamingos on the alkaline lake.
Day 2: Lake Manyara → Serengeti
Morning drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands — lush coffee farms and Maasai communities. Afternoon arrival in the Serengeti with a sunset game drive.
Day 3: Central Serengeti
Full day on the famous Central Serengeti plains. This is big-cat country year-round: lions, cheetahs and leopards. The Seronera River valley is a hotspot for resident predators.
Day 4: Serengeti — Extended Drive
Follow your guide to wherever the action is. Wildebeest herds, giraffe families, elephants at waterholes. Sundowner drinks on the savannah.
Day 5: Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Morning game drive before departing for the crater rim. Two nights at a lodge perched 2,300m above sea level with sweeping views over the 260 sq km caldera.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha
Full crater descent for a morning of dense wildlife viewing. The crater holds around 25,000 large animals. Afternoon ascent and drive back to Arusha.
